More flights for Margate

A midweek flight has been added because of the positive response.

TWO and a half thousand passengers have been transported between Margate and OR Tambo International since the launch of the route by CemAir in November last year, the Hibiscus Coast Municipality mayor Cynthia Mqwebu revealed at a press briefing held on Tuesday.

“This overwhelming response has prompted the airline to make a midweek flight available in addition to the regular flights on Fridays and Sundays. The flight departs OR Tambo on a Wednesday at 11am to arrive at Margate airport at noon. It returns to Johannesburg at 1pm to arrive there at 2.30 pm,” she revealed.

During school holidays and peak holiday season, flights will operate between the two destinations on a daily basis, except for public holidays.

“The municipality is delighted with this development, it is good for the future of our tourism and business environments,” she said.
