PORT Shepstone Primary had a smooth start to the academic year and held the gr R orientation recently where pupils were shown their new classroom and introduced to their teacher. The gr R requirements were also discussed in detail with parents.
Gr 1 pupils were happy to be starting formal schooling and anxious parents escorted eager pupils to their classrooms. Parents were proud of their children, who quickly adjusted to their new surroundings, but teachers did notice more apprehensive parents than pupils!
The school inducted its prefects for the academic year on January 22. Prefects were selected based on academic performance, behaviour and leadership skills displayed. Head girl is Afeefah Hoosen and head boy is Msimemelo Madikizela, while the two deputies are Lusanda Miya and Mohammed Kadwa. All prefects are wished well in the execution of duties for the year.
