THE Port Shepstone Organised Crime Unit detectives are concerned at the number of reports being received of members of the public being defrauded of their money in an apparent employment scam.
“People are requested to deposit money into a money-market account to secure employment with Correctional Services,” said police spokesman Captain Vincent Pandarum. “The depositor furnishes a pin code for the money to be accessed by the party supposedly arranging the jobs. The hapless job-seekers lose their money and remain jobless. Any further contact with the con artist is impossible.”
The public is cautioned not to fall victim to this scam and to report all such cases to the SAPS for investigation.
