MUSIC is an integral part of the curriculum at Creston. Teachers Cheryse Faddy and Marisa Rieger believe that music enhances the listening and concentration ability of pupils. Pupils gain appreciation for the value of music while still in the foundation phase of the school and learn music notes by playing marimbas.
The past week has been an active sports week with cricket matches taking place against St Patrick’s College in Kokstad. Creston’s first team travelled to Kokstad. St Patrick’s made 90 all out and Kyle Flanagan took five wickets for 18 runs. Creston achieved 90/2 with Kyle Flanagan making 61 not out and Creston winning by eight wickets. The U15 team played at home and Creston made 175/5 with Mark Scott scoring 25 runs. St Patrick’s 120/7 saw Grant Joubert-Nel taking two wickets for 22 runs and Creston winning by 55 runs. Well done to all the cricket teams.
In the U13A cricket vs Margate Primary, Margate made 64 all out. Karl Huizinga took two wickets for 11 runs. Creston made 65/1, Kyle Allan achieved 24 runs and Karl Huizinga 22. Creston won by 9 wickets. In a recent relay gala at Toti High, Creston did very well and was placed in fourth position.
