DESPITE the heat, Izotsha Primary’s cricket boys continue to excel and win. Matches against Creston College – U11A team won by 10 wickets; Izotsha attained 90 all out in the 19th over losing only one wicket. Man of the match, Chad Laycock, three wickets in three overs, 32 runs. U11B team won by seven wickets, Noel Pillay, four wickets and Kai Hielckert 12 runs.
U13A won by 41 runs, Izotsha 90 runs for eight wickets, bowling Creston all out for 49. Ross Klusener, 31 runs (five fours and a six); Chase Britz, four wickets for 10 runs in four overs, awarded man of the match. U13B won by 12 runs, Izotsha made 126 runs (Zack Thiele 56). Alex Thiele took four wickets and John de Bruin, three. U13s played a six-a-side tournament against Suid-Natal Primêr on the weekend and won.
At the Northern Region’s kart championships held at Vereeniging, Clinton Bezuidenhout (gr 7), won the opening round of the Junior Max battle.
Gr 5 pupils raised funds by selling cards, which were hand delivered by ‘cupids’ on Valentine’s Day.
