Sheppie High hosts annual open day

Application forms will be available at the open day this Saturday.

SHEPPIE High will be hosting an open day on March 1 from 8.30am to 12noon with scheduled guided tours, various school and extramural activities on show and sports running throughout the day.

The swimming team was placed fifth out of eight schools at a gala held at St Henry’s. Junior water polo boys’ teams lost against the strong Scottburgh teams.

U14 cricket boys played a 20/20 match against Creston, who batted first, scoring 60 all out. (Jarod Jacobs – 5 for 13). PSHS scored 63 for 4, won by six wickets (Ty Redinger 21 n/o).

Touch rugby league matches results: Boys drew 4-all against St Benedict’s and beat Curro 16-0. Girls’ first team lost 0-3 to Westville Girls’ and the second team lost 4-9 to Manor Gardens. Anesu Pawandiwa was player of the match when her team lost 14-23 against Kuswag’s netball team in the Gelofte night series.

Basketball boys against Kingsway, first team lost 33-26, U16s won 29-6 and U14s won 13-2. Oratory teams won all debates at Hoërskool Suid-Natal. Uyanda Mkhize and Phila Dyasi were named best speakers. The senior A team debated against Suid-Natal’s B team, senior B team against Southcity’s A team, and the junior team against Suid Natal’s senior A team.
