PORT Shepstone Primary took part in the KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union’s KFC mini cricket festival held in Durban on February 15. The school plays a constructive role in the Southern KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union, to promote and develop cricket, and to achieve this, pupils are encouraged to take part in various tournaments and festivals organised by the union.
Pupils were selected to represent the Southern KwaZulu-Natal region at the festival, where cricket coaching clinics were held and matches were played against teams from other regions. Players enjoyed the opportunity to socialise with other cricket enthusiasts and to exchange tips and improve skills.
Parent meetings were held last week for all gr 1 to 6 pupils to discuss general issues such as promotion requirements, discipline and conduct.
Last Wednesday, representatives from the Phelophepa Health Care Train addressed grades 6 and 7 pupils on study skills to assist pupils with organising and planning study routines to achieve maximum success.
