GRADE three pupils have been focusing on ‘feelings’ and what makes us unique in life skills. Carrying this theme over into art, using our new interactive whiteboard, Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944) was studied. Kandinsky, an accomplished musician and artist used shape and colour to express his feelings. He believed colours placed together harmonise like chords in music, that the square caused calm feelings and circles express spiritual feelings. Kandinsky was one of the founding artists of the abstract expressionist movement. The grade three pupils painted pictures of their own using squares and circles in an attempt to express their feelings whilst listening to music.
