Islamic School recites the Quraan

Six recitations of the Quraan were completed.

LAST Wednesday marked the culmination of two projects undertaken by Islamic School pupils, namely the ‘Flour for Syria’ fund-raiser, as well as the Quraan recitation completion.

Grade 8s, under the guidance of Mrs Rabia Bux, enthusiastically encouraged fellow pupils to donate generously towards the ‘Flour for Syria’ campaign and the gr 9s featured outstandingly, contributing R4 298.00 to the total amount of R15 565.05.

Pupils gathered in the school hall to recite the Quraan (838 pages) collectively and six recitations of the Quraan were completed. The gathering was addressed by Mufti Maseehulla Kajee and at the end, each pupil received a hamper.

The U14 cricket team played a ‘district friendly’ against the Jai Hind team, where the team was narrowly beaten by four wickets. Coach Shuaib Sheik maintained that the Islamic School’s young team has future potential.
