Cops recover stolen property

The community is urged to identify the recovered items.

MORE stolen property was recovered this week by members from Port Shepstone TRT in Umbango, following the arrest of two alleged house robbers.

Police arrested Siyabonga Jayiya (27) last Thursday, and he appeared in court for the possession of stolen property and house breaking implements on Monday this week.

The case was postponed for seven days for further investigation.

Police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid, said a second suspected robber (42) was arrested on Tuesday this week.

“The foreigner was found in a house in the Umbango area and TRT members seized a plasma television, cameras, cellphones, a dvd player and speakers,” she said.

Lt-Col Wiid said he will be charged with possession of stolen property. He appeared in court yesterday (Wednesday).

His permit to be in the country expires at the end of May 2014. The community is requested to contact Warrant Officer Joey Nair on 039 6881179 or 039 6881062 to identify the stolen property.
