AS PART of the new curriculum and assessment programme in gr 7, ‘creative arts’ is now being offered as a separate subject. One positive outcome of this is that more time will be allocated to the subject. Port Shepstone Primary pupils have been experimenting and practising various new techniques and styles in visual arts, with pleasing results. Hopefully pupils will develop a keen interest in visual arts because feedback from pupils has been positive. Many pupils believed that they lacked artistic skills, but have since been pleasantly surprised at the artwork that they could produce.
