LAST Wednesday, Southcity’s Pre-primary went on a fantastic excursion to Mac Banana, where they fed the farm animals and were treated to a healthy snack.
Junior primary and preparatory school hosted the production ‘The Secret Dreams of Boris the Bully’ last Monday. In the story, the school bully, Boris, comes to realise how hurtful and nasty he has been and sets out to correct the wrongs he has done, which changes the attitudes of the children at school. He teaches them to be honest, show respect, work hard and be responsible . The show was enjoyed by the pupils, who eagerly responded with actions and song to reinforce the core values portrayed in the play.
Seven schools took part in the lower South Coast colours gala hosted by Southcity last Friday, which saw some very good, competitive swimming. Cricket: U13A played Creston at Creston and Southcity made 100 runs, winning the game by 15 runs. The season has come to an end, Southcity played four games, winning three and losing one.
Last Saturday, Southcity’s 1st team played Sheppie High. Southcity – 139 all out (Calvin Brown 36, Eric Lohler 33 and Joshua Woycieh 22). PSHS were all out for 115 (Ashton Elliott 2 for 5, Jonothan Francesconi 5 for 5, Ross Theron 3 for 16) Southcity won by 25 runs. 1st Team played Creston, Southcity – 134 for 7 after 20 overs (Cody Hill 48 not out, Ross Theron 34, Jonothan Francesconi 20). Creston were 90 for 9 in their 20 overs (Cody Hill 3 for 16). Southcity won by 44 runs.
