PERSEVERANCE and hard work by officers from the Tactical Response Team, Port Shepstone, resulted in the arrest of several people within two days.
Warrant Officer Patrick Gosling, Constable Travis Dickens and Cst Raphael Smithwick, arrested two men in their twenties in Shelly Beach on Monday.
“The men were caught smoking heroin in the bush,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid. The officers found 10 straws of heroin on each of them. The men are due to appear in the Port Shepstone court charged with the possession of drugs.
On Tuesday the same team arrested a 20-year-old man in a business premises in Reynolds Street, Port Shepstone. “A businessman heard a noise and went to investigate. He found a man going through items in the building. Police were contacted and the burglar was taken into custody.
Later on Tuesday the same police officers arrested eight illegal immigrants in Kokstad after they were found with fraudulent documents in their possession. “Investigations are continuing and the illegal immigrants will be appearing in the Kokstad Court soon,” said Lt-Col Wiid.
