SIBUSISO Thabane Mtshali (22), who was arrested in Rathbonville in Oslo Beach on February 23 with stolen property, escaped from Port Shepstone SAPS.
According to police reports, Mtshali was being questioned on February 24 when he asked to use the ablution facilities.
“Once inside the ablutions he jumped through a window and escaped,” said police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.
Last Friday, Sergeant Mduduzi Zimema from Port Shepstone SAPS re-arrested Sibusiso, in Mkholombe, Bhobhoyi.
He appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court today (Monday) and the case was postponed for seven days for further investigation.
On the day of his arrest in Oslo Beach, he was found carrying two bags containing building tools. He could not give a satisfactory explanations as to where he got the tools and was arrested.
