Creston’s ‘Beastly’ captivates audience

Through the use of digital and modern music, as well as acting charm, the story came alive for the audience.

MANY of the public would have been entertained by the slick college phase production of ‘Beastly’, which was a wonderful mix of digital magic and very good stage performances by a collection of young teenagers. The story was a remake of ‘Beauty and The Beast’, set in a contemporary society. Through the use of digital music, modern music and acting charm, the story came alive for the audience. Top marks to Laura Guest and the cast. A special mention must be made of Zahn Lessing, who added the digital wizardry to the production. There were some notable firsts here for Creston, not the least of which was the use of digital backdrops.

The final gala of the term took place and Creston was the host for South Coast schools at the annual South Coast ‘JP’ gala. The weather threatened throughout, but did not prevent parents supporting the event in great numbers. The standard of swimming was high and athletes can be grateful that the rain held off until the final race of the event. Full marks to the team on a well-managed gala.
