Margate beach: dead woman identified

She moved to the South Coast only five months ago.

A NOTE written by Edna Fourie (54) was found after her body was discovered on Margate beach last Thursday at 11.30am.

Police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka, said Ms Fourie’s naked body was found on the rocks, a short distance from the Margate tidal pool.

Ms Fourie, from Pretoria, had moved to the coast five months ago, and was living in a flat close to Margate beachfront.

A distraught, Esmè Groenewald (54), who confirmed that a note had been left behind, described the death of her twin sister as ‘heartbreaking’.

Ms Fourie leaves behind two sons, Stephan Bester (28) and Robbie Bester, (26) and two grandchildren, Sidney (8) and Lezard (seven-months-old). She also leaves two brothers, Johan Coetzee and Andre Coetzee. Read more in tomorrow’s South Coast Herald.
