Ramsgate bus accident leaves one dead
The driver of the car has been identified.
A COLLISION between a bus and a car on the R61 near Ramsgate on Sunday evening left the driver of the car dead.
Police spokesman, Captain Gerald Mfeka, said the driver of the silver BMW had been identified as Mcebisi Skhundla.
Robert Mckenzie of KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Medical Services said no one in the bus was injured.
“According to the bus driver, he was driving in the slow lane when a vehicle drove straight towards him, he tried to avoid it and it knocked the bus, and then went into the bushes and caught fire,” said Capt Mfeka.
A culpable homicide case has been opened.
