Ramsgate family attacked, robbed

A 70-year-old neighbour who came to assist was stabbed three times.

FOUR armed men attacked a family in their Lynne Road, Ramsgate home on Tuesday afternoon this week.

Margate police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka said Ross Douthwaite (37) was with his two business partners, his wife and three children at their home when the incident occurred.

“At about 3pm four men gained entry to Mr Douthwaite’s house. He was stabbed in the pelvis. During the ordeal his daughter (8) ran to the neighbour for help,” said Captain Mfeka.

When the Douthwaite’s neighbour, Sigy Kaiser (70), bravely came to assist, he was stabbed three times.

The intruders took a laptop and two cellphones and fled. Margate police were contacted and managed to recover the laptop which was dropped by the attackers.
