SEVERAL people were recently arrested by the Port Shepstone public order policing unit for being in possession of drugs during a stop-and-search operation conducted at the Port Shepstone taxi rank and in Murchison last week.
“The total weight of the dagga confiscated was 334 grams,” said police spokesman, Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid.
“A man, (29), was arrested for being in possession of three straws of heroin in Murchison, and a 37-year-old man was nabbed for being in possession of a mandrax tablet,” she said.
The officers arrested another three men who were being sought for cases of theft out of motor vehicle and house breaking in the Port Shepstone area. The suspects will appear in court soon.
