Big build-up plans for jazz festival

METRO FM and SAMA Awards nominee, Ifani, will perform at the Ugu Jazz Festival pre-party which will be held at the Marburg Sport Complex on June 27.
Ifani, who became popular in the music fraternity with his unique style of rapping in Xhosa, has signed and sealed a deal with Cyassound Holdings, officially bringing him on board for the jazz pre-party.
From 6pm till the crack of dawn, Ifani, UHURU, Big NUZ, Sosha, Professor and deejays Euphonick, Happy Girl and Tira, among others, will be keeping the young people entertained. Tickets are on sale at Computicket and Shoprite Checkers stores nationwide at R150 for general access and R450 for VIP access.
The countdown will start with the Indigenous Music Festival at Mpisane Sports Field in Umzumbe on June 14.
Due to popular demand, the event has brought back the gags with the Ugu Jazz Festival Comedy Show which will be held at the Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre on June 26. Tickets will be sold at the gate at R100.
The actual festival will take place at the Ugu Sport and Leisure Centre on June 28. Tickets are R280 for general access, R450 for the golden access and R800 for VIP tickets.
The festival, in partnership with Amstel, will host also host a Bon Voyage Amstel Picnic at St Michael’s Beach on June 29, where music lovers can enjoy the beats of deejays Black Coffee, Vinny Da Vinci and Christos, among others.
Patrons must be on the lookout for the promotion team which is visiting parts of KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape to promote the event. Lucky patrons will win tickets to the main event and there are loads of prizes up for grabs.
