Ramsgate chess club makes its move

The club meets every second Saturday from 11:00 to 14:00.

Ramsgate Chess Club was started with a simple idea – to bring people together through chess and create a friendly, welcoming home for the local chess community.

Founded in July by Schalk Coetzee and Sarah Unsworth, the club meets every second Saturday from 11:00 to 14:00 at The Art Café in Ramsgate (957 Marine Drive).

Artist Diane Erasmus welcomes everyone.

Players of all levels are welcome, from beginners and those returning to chess after years away to experienced players looking for a friendly challenge.

Chess offers more than competition; it develops concentration, patience, strategic thinking, problem-solving and planning, while providing an opportunity to meet people and make new friends.

For younger players, chess can help with logical thinking and decision-making, while adults can enjoy the mental challenge and social connection.

Bring a friend, your strategy and your best opening move. For more information, contact Sarah on 083-331-3866 or visit www.ramsgatechessclub.co.za.
