Soul Food KZN is launched

Soul Food KZN still requires active sponsors and is appealing for assistance and input.

SOUL Food KZN is a subsidiary of the Johannesburg based ‘My Soul Provider Trust’ and its major focus is to collect excess food and vegetables that still have nutritional value, but no commercial value, from supermarkets, fast food outlets, restaurants, hotels, etc for delivery to charitable organisations that feed the needy every day.

Rotary Satellite Club Southbroom, Rotary Club Hibiscus Coast and the Trafalgar Presbyterian Church are major sponsors of the venture at this stage, but Soul Food KZN is still looking for active sponsors to assist with: 1) A driver/manager salary (including petrol, insurance and maintenance of the vehicle); 2) Names of food industry organisations that would be willing to donate wholesome foodstuffs, rather than seeing it go to waste; and, 3) Contact details of charities or beneficiaries that are in need of the collected food.

Soul Food KZN’s focus will be between Port Shepstone and Port Edward and west of the N2 highway. A delivery vehicle has generously been sponsored through the trust and the first collections and deliveries commence in June.

If anyone is able to assist, contact Osie Osborne at 079 4938385, osie.osborne@gmail.com; Peter Storm at 082 9000360, peter@stormco.co.za; Pastor Dave Thorburn-Humphrey at 082 8598133, dave@mysoulprovider.org or go to www.mysoulprovider.org and click on ‘Soul Food’ link.
