Taxi driver falls ill in court

The court case has dragged on and on.

TAXI driver Njabulo Nyawose (25), who was involved in the accident in which South Coast Olympic cycling star Burry Stander died in January last year, appeared in the Port Shepstone Magistrate’s Court this morning.

Mr Nyawose, from Gamalakhe, faces charges of culpable homicide, as well as several alternative charges related to the driving of a motor vehicle.

As the State’s expert was testifying about video footage he had downloaded in the area of the accident, the accused raised his hand, requesting to speak to his attorney.

The court was informed that he had stomach cramps and felt nauseous.

Nyawose was excused from C court.
