Traffic cop found dead

A TRAFFIC officer was found dead at a friend’s house at Kwaxaba Ward in Gamalakhe last Saturday.

The officer, Zibonele Ciprion Khuzwayo (53), was employed at Hibiscus Coast Municipality Law Enforcement Department. “When police arrived at the scene they found Mr Khuzwayo in the lounge,” said police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka.

“His service firearm was found on the floor next to him and he sustained a wound to the head.”

It is believed that Mr Khuzwayo was a former member of Umkhonto we Sizwe (MK), which was the armed wing of the African National Congress.

Gamalakhe detectives have opened an inquest docket. No foul play is suspected.
