Warning! Disturbing photos: Throat slit in ritual killing
The bloated carcass washed up on the beach.
THE gruesome discovery of a sheep with its throat slit at ‘The Block’ in Port Shepstone shocked staff at the Lower South Coast SPCA yesterday (Wednesday).
SPCA Inspector Lucky Jali attended the scene after he was notified by the Hibiscus Municipality Protection Services.
Michael Muller, SPCA manager, who was disturbed by the finding, said it’s thought the sheep’s death could be linked to a ritual killing which may have occurred over the weekend.
He said the carcass, which was bloated, appeared to have washed up onto the beach.
“We will not hesitate to prosecute those concerned if they are found,” he said.
