Ugu’s facebook page blocked

Customers will be informed once the operation of the page resumes.

THE Ugu District Municipality’s water and sanitation services facebook page has been blocked.

Customers utilising this medium to communicate with the municipality are urged to do so through Ugu’s website www.ugu.gov.za or use the 24-hour call centre 08000 WATER (92837) or (039) 688 5830/36.

“The municipality sincerely apologises for this inconvenience. The page was blocked by the facebook administrator for unspecified reasons. We currently wait upon the administrator to lift the ban,” said Ugu spokesman, Sipho Khuzwayo.

The page was created to minimise the volume of water and sanitation queries through the customer services while simultaneously ensuring continuous interaction with communities for better services.

“Since its launch in January 2014, the page has grown tremendously with thousands of contacts interacting with the municipality on a daily basis,” said Mr Khuzwayo.

“We would like to thank our customers and other contacts for supporting this communication improvement initiative,” he concluded.
