Loo blues might be over soon

Hibiscus Coast Municipality will appoint a new contractor to complete work at St Michael's beach.

UVONGO residents and visitors will be pleased to know that the work on the St Michael’s beach ablution block, which started more than a year ago, might soon be completed.

At the moment the ablution block is barely functional and there are no facilities for handicapped people.

According to Hibiscus Coast Municipality spokesman Simon Soboyisa, the contractor responsible for the refurbishing of the ablution block was paid for the work he had completed the previous financial year. However he had since absconded. He had not been paid for any work not completed, Mr Soboyisa assured ratepayers.

“The municipality is now in the process of appointing another contractor who will then complete the outstanding work,” he said.

The municipality wished to apologise for the inconvenience caused by the uncompleted refurbishing, said Mr Soboyisa. It was doing all in its powers to ensure the work was completed as soon as possible.
