‘No Dumping’ signs ignored

Law-abiding residents are up in arms, wanting to resort to naming and shaming the offending homeowners.

UMDONI did react to the Mail’s recent report about dumping in Ratcliffe Lane… but it seems with little effect.

In a statement dated August 25, the communications department said: “A site inspection revealed that clearing of garden refuse has commenced and will be completed by this week.

“The Refuse Section has also erected “No Dumping” sign boards which we anticipate will deter future illegal dumping.”

However, it seems that Umdoni will need to become more hands on. Another homeowner, further down the lane, has joined in the dumping free-for-all, ignoring the sign board.
