Southcity’s Britney makes national team

Gr 12 pupils have achieved excellent results this year with 109 subject merit awards handed out.

BRITNEY Pieterse has been selected for the KZN school swimming team to take part in National Schools’ Gala in December.

Southcity’s gr 12 pupils have achieved excellent results this year and 109 subject merit awards were handed out to pupils who achieved 75 percent or higher at the final assembly held last Friday. Academic colours were re-awarded to Ryan Stack, Megan Wood, Shannon-Lea O’Connor, and Therita Erasmus. Academic honours were re-awarded to Lindi Burger, Joshua Reed and Joya Tobler, while Kerryn Henson was a new recipient.

College prize-giving was held last Wednesday night and congratulations go to Joya Tobler on her achievement as dux for 2014 with an aggregate of 91 percent. She also received 8 merit rewards. Gr 2 pupil Josh Reed achieved an aggregate of 89 percent and also received 8 merit awards.

Pre-primary pupils enjoyed an educational and fun outing to Doveton’s farm. They learnt all about planting and growing macadamia nuts, bananas and sugar cane. The highlights were the tractor and trailer rides around the farm and a sucker made from sugar.
