Take note: Ugu warns there may be no water

Consumers are urged to use water sparingly.

WATER interruptions are a very real possibility in Uvongo, Manaba and Margate today as reservoir levels are low due to a burst pipe.

The municipality has urged consumers to use water sparingly in these areas.

“Consumers in these areas are warned that there is a likelihood of reservoirs drying up today (December 24) if the high rate of water consumption is not restricted,” said Ugu spokesman Sipho Khuzwayo.

He added that the technicians are currently investigating the source of the pipe break.

“We hope that this challenge will be overcome as soon as possible. Ugu would like to sincerely apologise in advance to those consumers who might be affected as a result of the anticipated water supply interruption,” said Mr Khuzwayo.

For water and sanitation related updates and queries, communities are to communicate with their ward councillors or call 08000 WATER (92837) or (039) 688 5830/36 or SMS 44751.
