Visitors come out to play at Tweni TC
What a fantastic change to see so many young players at the club.
AMAZINGLY the number of visitors at Tweni Tennis Club equalled the number of members at tennis last Saturday. It was wonderful to have so many new faces at the club and hopefully they will all be able to come again soon. Colette Barnard got a bit more tennis than last week and certainly is a whizz at the net.
It was also great to have Di Lund and her family, daughter Lucy and husband Alex Holmes, sons Rex and Gavin, daughter Natasha and friend, Stephan van der Merwe at the club once again. Thanks to Dave and Ellie Whateley for providing Swiss roll and red velvet cake for tea, as well as for arranging sets.
The club’s AGM will be held on Saturday, January 31, and members are requested to diarise this date and make every effort to attend. Raj Naganna and partner did very well in the mixed doubles in the Veteran’s Tournament held in George and will be going down to Cape Town for the next tournament from January 16-20. Good luck, Raj – keep up your winning game.
