Tweni TC players brave the heat

Remember to diarise the AGM on January 31 at 5pm.

SUMMER hit Tweni Tennis Club with a vengeance last Saturday and there were several ‘wilted flowers’ by the end of the afternoon! Despite the oppressive heat, there were enough players for five courts. Thanks to Dan Dimitriu, who stood in for the person on duty and bought a delicious Black Forest cake for tea.

It was good to have visitors Helgard du Preez and Tish Roos back on the courts after such a long time and hopefully they’ll be able to play more regularly now.

Don’t forget the AGM on Saturday, January 31, scheduled for 5pm, however, if it rains, the meeting will commence at 3pm.

Members are sorry to hear about Megan, Lynne Rorich’s daughter, who had an accident. Megan is wished a speedy recovery. Condolences to the Horlock family on the death of Aletta, a formidable opponent in the women’s league many years ago, she also coached many of the members’ children throughout her illustrious teaching career.

Saturday duty: Chloë Dutton – 17th; Foxy Norton – 24th.
