THE Captain’s Putter for 2014 at Margate Country Club was won by Graeme Massam.
All the monthly medal winners for the year qualify and then ‘play off’ in January. Graeme carded nett 66 to win fairly comfortably.

Super team in the news
THE Wednesday comp at Port Shepstone Country Club last week was rained out.
Friday’s business day, sponsored by Raj and Ramesh Luckraj, saw the Harbour View SuperSpar/South Coast Herald team of Graham Milligan, Bevis Fairbrother, Jaco Swanepoel and Gloria Lundie win on 91 points.
In second place were Roy’s Electrical on 89 points, namely Jan Roos, Errol Rudman, Roy Watkins and Pat McCormick.
They counted out Ricky Naidoo, Rob Calder, Krish Kandasamy and Justin Naidoo.
Saturday’s Auto Exec Monthly Mug was won by Mark Smith on nett 64 off his 20 handicap.
Debi Stewart won the individual Stableford on 36 points, followed by Abel Yeerranna on 31 points.
Altaaf Bux had the best gross of 75.
Paul Geoffery won the A division on nett 69, with Greg Hornby next on 75.
Niel Retief took top honours in the B division on nett 69, counting out Josh Billington.
In the C division it was Howard Crouch who had the lowest score, a nett 68, to win by four from Ewald Ziervogel.
The Cellar Cup was won by Mark Smith, followed by Howard Crouch, Paul Geoffery and Niel Retief.

‘Closed case’ for Southbroom
SOUTHBROOM Golf Club will host the Southern KwaZulu-Natal Closed over 36 holes this Saturday. The players will tee off early and then turn before the afternoon field.
The club will also be hosting four premier league games during the year, as well as the central C league home fixture.

Third time lucky for Simone
SIMONE Ferreira finished in second place in the C division at the KZN Junior Champs played at Victoria CC recently.
A little while later she played in another tournament at Kloof, and finished second again.
Finally, at a third tournament, held at Mount Edgecombe, she clinched victory.
She’ll be playing in a SA Kids tournament at Mount Edgecombe on January 25, so seems to be peaking at the right time.
