Big bouquet for Hibiscus Coast

Friendly efficiency proved the rule not the exception.

THERE was a surprise awaiting a new Margate property owner when he went to register his property for rates – and during two more subsequent dealings with Hibiscus Coast Municipality.

“Everyone was just so friendly, helpful and efficient,” said Japie Alberts, who lives at Hartbeespoort Dam. When he asked to have the property registered in his name, the helpful official who assisted him was one step ahead of him. His newly acquired property and all the correct details were already part of the system. Perhaps he had just struck it lucky?

However, he soon needed to obtain plans of the property and, once again, he was met with nothing but courtesy and efficiency. This was repeated when he went to Hibiscus Coast Municipality with a business proposition.

“I’ve now realised that friendly service and helpful efficiency are the rules not the exceptions when dealing with Hibiscus Coast officials,” he said.

Japie has a background of 35 years in the municipal arena and is now a municipal consultant, so he is well qualified to judge the quality of service a municipality provides.

He pointed out that residents were quick to complain about bad municipal service but a little slower when it came to thanking people. After his exceptionally good experiences he believed Hibiscus Coast Municipality deserves a pat on the back.
