ISLAMIC School’s gr 12 pupils enjoyed a much-needed midterm break and headed towards a quaint farmstead tucked away in Paddock. Pupils refreshed themselves with fishing, playing cricket and board games and rounded the relaxing day off with a braai. The school wishes to thank Ismail Moola for allowing pupils the use of the farm.
The University of Witwatersrand (Wits) liaison officers presented an informative talk on study options available at the campus for gr 12 pupils.
Gr 5 pupils recently set off bright and early to Riverbend Chalets and Campsite. Charlotte Whitaker and nature conservationist Alex Skene shared their in-depth knowledge on the balance of the ecosystem, which pupils found extremely informative and interesting. They were exposed to indigenous and alien invasive plants and then visited Viking Naks to learn about the production and packaging of potato chips. Pupils enjoyed interacting with animals and were treated to exciting quad bike rides on the farm.
