SOUTHCITY hosted the recent Ugu District swimming championships and qualifying pupils from high schools in the district (from Scottburgh, Port Edward and up to Harding) were invited to enter. Southcity entered seventeen pupils, (the most from one school) and they all swam well.
Results: Denita-Sue Pieterse (6 gold medals); Britney Pieterse (2 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze); April Niemack (3 gold, 4 bronze), Megan Bircher (2 silver, 1 bronze); Jeandre Michau (1 silver, 2 bronze); Liam Reid (1 gold, 2 silver); Ethan le Roux (1 gold, 1 bronze); Diana Pieterse and Tiffany Higgins (bronze), and Ruan Michau, Coralie Jacobs and Tamara Venter (silver).
Primary school results: Sarah-Joy Pringle (4 gold, 1 silver); Josh Glyn-Cuthbert and Ella Drummond (silver); Erik Schoeman, Hayden Woods and Gareth Pieterse (bronze).
The first team rugby boys played Scottburgh at home last week and played a good game, but lost 12-18.
The school’s recent community service at the Themba Club was a huge success, thanks to parents, staff, sponsors and pupils who helped enrich the lives of these children. Southcity assisted the Themba Club by revamping seven of their bedrooms.
