NSRI in slick, sick rescue

A group of women suffering from sea sickness were bought safely to shore.

ACTION stations! The crack crew on duty at the NSRI (National Sea Rescue Institute) Shelly Beach station rushed to a dramatic rescue… of three ‘very’ seasick women on a charter boat at Protea Banks last Saturday.

Not to spoil the sea experience for others on board the charter and also considering the green hue of the luckless trio, the charter skipper thought it best to summon the sea cavalry. NSRI kindly agreed to launch their Spirit of Dawn craft to rescue the three from their misery.

After all, there is nothing worse than being seasick and several sufferers have been known to offer to buy the boat or swim ashore.

Craig Lambinon, NSRI spokesman, said the three, who were from Kimberley, Brits and San Lameer, virtually kissed the beach when they reached the shore where they were rehydrated and medicated for acute motion sickness.
