PORT Shepstone Primary School makes a concerted effort to expand pupils’ academic programme by planning outdoor excursions. Recently grades 2 and 3 pupils had the opportunity of visiting Crocworld in Scottburgh and Pure Venom Reptile Park.
These excursions are a highlight of the year for pupils, because many would never otherwise experience visiting
these venues. Pupils learnt a lot about reptiles and their habitats and were fortunate enough to witness crocodiles being fed.
At Pure Venom Reptile Park, pupils viewed many exotic and indigenous snakes and learnt about the important role that snakes play in the ecosystem. They were also taught about safety when encountering snakes in their own environment.
Sheppie Primary expresses gratitude to both Crocworld and Pure Venom for hosting the school.
