PORT Shepstone Junior Primary’s interhouse gala was held last Saturday and provided lots of fun for both parents and swimmers, who showed excellent team spirit. Parents were thanked for their enthusiasm, support and interest shown and kudos go to the whole staff complement. Head of sport Emma van Vuuren, sports coach Roxanne Vahey and teacher’s assistant Jessica Henning are thanked for their hard work that ensured that the gala was successful.
One of the school’s major fund-raising projects for the year is the swimathon, which was held last week. Dressed in swimming gear, pupils were very excited to see how many pool widths or lengths they could swim. Parents, pupils and families raised a record amount of R38 500, which will go towards air conditioning for the classrooms.
Congratulations to pupils Tashmika Dayanand, Kolungakonke Majavu, Sonal Dwarikapersadh, Suvali Dwarikapersadh, Unathi Nkomo, Mluleki Zangwa, Alicia Pillay, Malibongwe Zulu, Sisakazi Makhetha, Khethelo Mbili, Yuvir Naicker and Mariam Ahmed Ajam for being selected as school monitors.
