Harding faces drought

Ugu confirmed in a press briefing this week that a shortage of tankers on the coast was due to the fact that they were transporting water to Harding.

WITH rainfall levels worryingly low, water tankers have been bought into Harding to help with its drought.

Mayor, Councillor Dixie Nciki, confirmed that the levels of the dam had gone down and that a team of divers had been bought in to check for any blockages.

Cllr Nciki said that, due to the growing population, the dam was not sufficient to supply water and that Ugu District Municipality was trying its level best to supply water with its tankers.

Ugu confirmed in a press briefing this week that a shortage of tankers on the coast was due to the fact that they were transporting water to Harding.

Municipal manager, Sazi Mbhele, said there was a lot of investment taking place and that the district is currently constructing the large Weza dam.
