It’s all systems go for Ugu Maskandi Festival

The organisers expect at least 10 000 music fans to attend.

The much-anticipated Ugu Maskandi Festival is set to take place at the Ugu Sport and Leisure Centre on September 26.

This was announced at a media launch on August 7, where some of the artists were present.

A lineup of artists performing at the 6th annual event was also released. Some of the performing artists are Sjava, Olified Khetha, Limit, Nkeshemba, Mjolisi, Mbuzeni, Ntencane, Mafikizolo and the legendary Phuzekhemisi.

Bahubhe, an artist from Umzumbe who has made a name for himself, will be performing during the golden hour this year, and he has promised to bring nothing but the best.

He said this event has built careers of local and upcoming artists.

Speaking on behalf of the organisers, Melusi Khwela said the aim is to ensure patrons enjoy the festival.

Mayoghurt will perform at the Maskandi Festival.

“The event is not only about music and performances, but it also helps grow our local economy.”
Khwela said it’s all systems go for the event.

He added that this year’s event will be bigger and better, and about 10 000 people from across KZN are expected to attend.

Khalabemgeza Myeza is excited about the upcoming event.
