Islamic School athletes excel

The unanimous conclusion was that this event was the most enjoyable.

ISLAMIC School enjoyed a feast of sporting events and athletes competed in field events at the annual athletics which commenced on May 7.

The main athletics event took place at the Marburg Secondary School grounds, and the unanimous conclusion was that this event was the most enjoyable.

The competition between Wardah and Yasmeen houses was nail-biting with Yasmeen narrowly beating Wardah. As the sports progressed to the relay and tug of war events, the atmosphere was electric.

For the first time an ‘outsiders’ relay team competed against the senior boys’ team and after a close contest, the school finally emerged victorious.

To keep athletes, parents and supporters fuelled, the canteen continuously provided a range of delectable eats and treats. The dedicated group of volunteers who contributed to the success of the refreshment kiosk is commended for their hard work.

Islamic School pupils continued to display grit and talent at the winter sports day at PSSP last weekend. The U11 girls brought honour to the school by winning two games and need to be commended for their exemplary spirit and behaviour.
