Bleak July for hard-pressed motorists

The price of all grades of fuel will increase from midnight on Tuesday.

IF you own a motor vehicle, you will not be looking forward to the start of the new month.

The Department of Energy has announced that the price of all petroleum products will increase from midnight this Tuesday, June 30.

The department says the increase can be ascribed largely to the weakening of the Rand against the US Dollar, adding that the international price of petrol had also increased, while the prices for diesel and illuminating paraffin had decreased.

The July adjustment will see the price of 93 ULP increase by 44c a litre, 95 ULP by 41c a litre, while both grades of diesel will go up by 4 cents a litre.
