Thieves have targeted the church at least four times this year.
SOME might say these burglars are sure to be turned away at the Pearly Gates after a spate of burglaries at the Kingsway Family Worship Centre in Marburg.
But not Pastor Sam Owdbehari. He is prepared to turn the other cheek and, in fact, feels sorry for them. He has even extended an open invitation for them to join his church and worship there.
Thieves have targeted the church on Victory Road four times this year. Pastor Owdbehari said: “There were two burglaries in our new building and another two in the old building. Windows, doors and cabling were damaged.
Garden tools were also stolen and two air conditioning units removed. In the most recent burglary, a six channel mixer was stolen.
The church is currently constructing new premises which will go under a new banner, Turning Point Ministries.
“We are trying extremely hard to complete the new church building, but these robberies are setting us back. I’m not mad. I just feel sorry for the people that they would go to that end. I would love to have them worship with us. I’d love to see them find the peace,” said Pastor Owdbehari.
