Thieves steal SPCA’s gas stove
Pet owners are asked to take note of these important pointers.
HEARTLESS thieves have once again targeted the Lower South Coast SPCA.
PRO Lynne Harley said thieves fled with the gas stove used to cook the animals’ food. The animal welfare organisation is now looking for a donation of a gas stove and a new door for the kitchen.
The SPCA is also desperately in need of puppy and cat food and blankets. Mrs Harley thanked staff at the Beekman Group for their recent kind and generous donation of food and blankets.
She asked those missing their pets to come to the SPCA and check if they were perhaps waiting to be collected. She also urged owners to ensure their pets had collars with the relevant contact numbers.
She urged animal owners to double check if their pets were inside their yards before they closed their electronic gates, especially with the ongoing power failures.
Don’t forget the SPCA’s charity shops when cleaning out your cupboards. The Shelly Beach charity shop needs children’s clothing and toys, while the charity shop at the SPCA’s Uvongo premises needs linen, household goods and kitchenware.
High school pupils needing to do community service are asked to contact Mrs Harley regarding their Christmas gift wrapping fund-raiser.
Those looking to adopt a pet, please think of those waiting for a loving home at the SPCA.
Mrs Harley urged cat and dog lovers to get their furry friends sterilised. Contact Mrs Harley for more information at 039 3173362 or 039 3120962.
