Margate clothing store stripped
Three men raided a main street clothing store in Margate last Friday.
CUSTOMERS were terrified as three gunmen held up a clothing store in Marine Drive last Friday.
Cellphones and an undisclosed sum of cash were stolen.
Police spokesman Captain Gerald Mkefa reported that the manageress of the store closed the doors about 5pm.
“The store was still busy, with customers waiting to pay and also looking through the clothing.
“She then went to help with the cash-up. A few minutes later, she had to open the door to let one of the customers out and while doing so she noticed a man going into the cash office,” said Capt Mfeka.
She tried to slam the door closed, but two more armed men forced their way in. The men fled with whatever they could find. Luckily, no-one was injured.
