‘Thirsty’ gang attacks man

The men had come to the house under the guise of asking for water.

A LION’S Grove man was yesterday bound, assaulted and robbed in his Seaview Road home by a gang of four men.

Police spokesman Lieutenant-Colonel Zandra Wiid said the men had come to the house under the pretense of asking for water.

“They pushed him inside the house and hit him in the face. The attackers then tied the 61-year-old man up with electric cables,” said Lt-Col Wiid.

The men ransacked the house and fled with numerous items. The injured man only managed to free himself after an hour and called for help.

Police urged people to be extremely careful not to open doors to strangers.
