Pre-Christmas thieves strike
Police urge farmers to make sure they mark their livestock.
WITH the price of mutton as it is these days, one brazen person in Izingolweni decided to help himself to a roast-on-the-hoof last Saturday.
A farmer placed his stock of cows, sheep and goats in a kraal in Manzaamhlophe Ward at about 6pm.
When he checked on the animals later that night, he found a fence had been cut and a sheep was missing.
Captain Gerald Mfeka warned there had been several cases of stock theft in the Izingolweni area recently.
“We urge the community to make sure that they abide by the Animal Identification Act by marking their livestock,” he said.
