Feast for a good cause

The biblical dinner proceeds will be used for a lovely interdenominational project.

THE proceeds from a very special dinner with a biblical theme, which will be hosted by the Port Shepstone NG Church, will go to a wonderful interdenominational project that will be of great benefit to the South Coast.

Members of the church are raising funds to build an amphitheatre in the church grounds. Three tall crosses made of railway sleepers with a base of rock artwork will dominate this outdoor facility, which will be equipped with tiered seating. All church groups will be welcome to use it for assorted outdoor performances, carol evenings, passion and nativity plays and other open air events. Set in the church’s beautiful gardens, it will also offer local people a place for meditation and quiet contemplation.

Those in charge of the project invite members of all local churches to the biblical feast, at Suid-Natal High hall on Friday, January 15, at 5.30pm for 6pm. A three-course meal will be served. Dress will be informal, although guests may add to the fun by wearing biblical costumes if they wish. A Bible-inspired entertainment programme will be presented.

Entrance is R45 per adult or R25 per child under 12 years. Booking is essential and no tickets will be available at the door. Tickets are available at the church office. Contact Ina at 082 8785061.

The organisers will stage a presentation on their amphitheatre project at the dinner, They point out that all guests who attend the dinner will in fact be shareholders of the interdenominational open-air theatre facility as their ticket money will be used for it. They hope their guest list will be as interdenominational as their project.
