New board for Port Shepstone Hospital

The nine members will be responsible for the overall governance of Port Shepstone Regional Hospital.

PORT Shesptone Regional Hospital management is proud to welcome its newly-appointed hospital board.

Chairman of the new board is John Grubb and his deputy is Phumlani Mzobe. Members are Nelisiwe Thabatha, Sibongiseni Dlamini, Ronald Pillay, Dinesh Pillay, Siyabonga Nyawuza, Lindiwe Danca and Sandile Makhanya.

Chief executive, Big Boy Khawula, said it was the hospital’s vision to provide an efficient, effective and compassionate regional health care service.

“We hope the board’s involvement will take the hospital to a whole new level,” he said.

Board members are volunteers of  good standing from the Ugu District community, who will be responsible for the overall governance of the hospital. They would help management to set the hospital’s strategic priorities and to ensure these were met, Mr Khawula explained.

“The board members also assess quality of care the hospital provides and ensure financial resources are managed appropriately. The hospital management thanks them for their commitment to quality health care and for giving up their time to serve on the board,” he said.

He and his management team wished the board all the best and a happy time with Port Shepstone Regional Hospital.
